Ten Facts About Katy Perry

1-Katy is currently 5'8" and 130 lbs but when she was a kid she weighed 145 lbs.  She was so busty  at that weight she wanted Breast Reduction, and told Elle  Magazine "...and I had enormous boobs that I didn't know what to do with, so I wore minimizers, which were not cute. Those thick-ass straps! I got made fun of for the over-the-shoulder boulder holder...and all I wanted was to look like Kate Moss. Little did I know...that these things would come in handy someday."

2-Her real name is Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson and was born in Santa Barbara California October 25, 1984

3-Among Perry's musical influences are Alanis Morissette,  Cyndi Lauper, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, and Freddie Mercury of Queen.

4-She met british comedian Russell Brand in the summer of 2008 and married October 23rd in 2010. 

5-Her television exploits include Sesame Street, American Idol, The Young and The Restless, The Simpsons, How I Met Your Mother, The X Factor, and in movies she is Smurfette in The Smurfs.

6-Her first single was not a hit, and though she skyrocketed to the top with the lesbian themed "I Kissed A Girl," her first single was entitled "Ur So Gay."

7-Perry's mother is apparently not very proud of her daughter, telling the British tabloid Daily Mail that her music is "Shameful and Disgusting."

8-Her parents are two devoted pastors who directed their daughter into singing in churches or local restaurants. Perry said that her mother used to ban her from listening to what they call "secular music".
